This Mattituck home was realtor Jerry Cibulski’s favorite of the year.

We asked 10 local realtors to share with us their favorite sale of 2017.

Victoria Germaise
Douglas Elliman Real Estate

“We sold this sprawling Georgian carriage house in Southold to the very first person we showed it to, on a freezing, snowy day. It’s a magical place! This was a co-list with my colleague Tom McCloskey.”

Marie Beninati

“It is such a charming waterfront home in Cutchogue that offered everything one would want — beautiful vistas, deepwater dock, a pool and a lovely beach house. Just heavenly!”

Jerry Cibulski
Albertson Realty

“I loved the honest joy and enthusiasm that was evident when this young family found the perfect North Fork retreat for their kids in Mattituck, to create the same memories as they reminisce over summers on Peconic Bay and movie nights at the Mattituck movie theater when they were kids. The experiences found on the North Fork and the value those memories hold is why I love what I do.”

Thomas Uhlinger
Douglas Elliman Real Estate

“I feel this Southold home was my favorite sale of the year, because I was fortunate to make a lasting friendship with the new buyers.”

“This home in East Marion was my favorite transaction because of the wonderful sellers and buyers. My sellers were transferred out of state and offered their mint home for sale with the option for the buyer to take it furnished. The buyers were just wonderful people who had been searching for a home in the area with no luck and happened to see my open house and came by and fell in love with the home, its 1.4-acre lovely garden and setting with barn. I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Thomas McCarthy
Thomas J. McCarthy Real Estate

“For McCarthy Real Estate, our favorite transaction for 2017 is on Goose Creek Lane in Southold. This amazing waterfront property had rare views of both Goose Creek and Peconic Bay, along with a private dock and bulkheading. The property, originally ‘for sale by owner,’ called for updates and a fresher presentation to maximize value. We did what we do best and updated the home with new baths, a new paint scheme, refinished floors, upgraded trim package and staging, and expedited an in-ground pool permit, which was tough in that location, but it all came together. The result was a spectacular waterfront retreat for which we found the perfect buyer, who is going to love this home for generations.”

Valerie Goode
Colony Real Estate

“It was in the beautiful Baywoods Community in Aquebogue and there were amazing bay views from most rooms. Beach and boating right there with a pool and patio on the bay side. Deeded with a designated boat slip, it had a sandy bay beach outside the door. With a spacious and modern floor plan it was well built with many Craftsman details. It’s a fantastic year-round or vacation home.”

Deirdre Fedun
Fedun Real Estate

“My favorite was to repurpose this once bustling family-filled home in picturesque Rolling Woods in Riverhead to a year-round retirement retreat, with plenty of room for visitors and entertainment. The tranquil, verdant yard is perfect for relaxing, with its own neighborhood access to expansive Long Island Sound beaches. Greens and blues never looked so good together.”

Kate Carpluk

“My favorite sale of 2017 is both a sweet and sentimental one in Jamesport. An original stage coach stop on Main Road, the ‘Wishing Well House’ is now a 1938 Sears Craftsman on 1.8 acres. I first sold this property to a lovely antique-loving couple back in 2001. They were naturally charmed by it and bought it on the spot the first day. They pampered it, and renovated over the years to include new roof, siding, windows, kitchen, baths and geothermal heat and air conditioning. My clients were relocating and on a first house tour the new buyers also just knew that this historic jewel property was destined to be theirs. A very special place indeed.”

Ike Israel
Richmond Realty Corp

“The future home of Bright and Early Discoveries Day Care in Riverhead is one of my favorite transactions this year, because it is always great when you see young businesspeople succeed and grow. Bright and Early Discoveries was opened two years ago by Jennifer Lamaina in Riverhead and needed more space to expand programs and accommodate more children.”
