“Winterfest: Live on the Vine” is continuing to broaden its scope from a mid-winter music and wine festival to an all-encompassing four-week showcase of vintners, breweries, distilleries and artists.
Founded in 2006 as an economic engine designed to draw crowds to the North Fork during the offseason, the eleventh annual Winterfest is returning February 23 through March 18 with a new, more diverse lineup.
On the roster is a specialty cocktails tastings at Long Island Spirits, VIP wine tastings at Clovis Point Vineyard, live music at Riverhead Ciderhouse and more.
In addition to the live music and tastings, Winterfest 2018 will once again offer bus tours to shuttle visitors between events and back to their hotels at Hyatt Place East End or Hotel Indigo. This is the second the festival is offering these Winterfest Experience Tours.
“We want to provide a true winter experience on the East End,” said Diane Tucci, Winterfest marketing coordinator at East End Arts. “It’s not about just going to one event, it’s about staying at a hotel then going to a wine tasting or a cheese pairing.”
Winterfest kicks off on Friday, February 23 with a party from 7 to 10 p.m. at Hotel Indigo East End, featuring live music by the East End Trio and Jesse Barnes. Restaurants, vineyards and breweries will offer special tastings and there will be a Chinese auction. You can get an earlier preview of the action on Thursday, February 22 with a Winterfest happy hour special from 5 to 7 p.m. at the hotel.
