In the days leading up to Halloween, there will be no better place for a North Fork fright than downtown Riverhead.

With spooky events planned for three straight days on the weekend leading up to the haunted holiday, the Riverhead Business Improvement District aims to pack downtown with ghouls, goblins and anyone looking for a scary good time.

Here are five ways to make the most of this Halloween in Riverhead.

If you’re interested in participating, check-in is at 1 p.m. Sunday with the event, which includes a parade of coffins, getting underway by 2 p.m. You can also show off your coffin a day ahead of time with a contest at Joe’s Garage.
