Visit some of the oldest and most storied lighthouses from here to Rhode Island during a lighthouse “super cruise” next week.

Riders will visit 12 lighthouses during the annual cruise sponsored by the East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation. The event is set for Monday, Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The museum hosts weekly tours of Long Beach Bar “Bug” Lighthouse, but the multi-state super cruise only happens once per year. Complimentary lunch is served as you travel aboard a high-speed boat provided by Cross Sound Ferry.

“We call this lighthouse excursion our ‘super cruise’ because it truly is the best way to describe the experience,” said East End Seaport Museum Member David Abatelli. “September is a spectacular time of year to spend the day on the water, and over the course of 5 hours passengers will learn about and enjoy close-up viewing of 12 lighthouses in 3 states — New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.”

General admission is $89 or $79 for members of the military, museum members and senior citizens. Children ages 3 to 15 are $59.

The trip begins and ends at Mitchell Park Marina in Greenport.
