Family fun night in Patchogue

Main Street will be closed down from Maple to Ocean avenues in Patchogue for Family Fun Night Friday, sponsored by northforker. The event, which runs from 5 to 9 p.m., features a petting zoo, race cars, train rides, music, face painting, balloons, vendors and live music from the Tri Valley Brass Band. We’ll see you there! Sunday brunch at Harmony Vineyards

Sometimes folks tend to forget about the Long Island wineries not based on the North Fork. Among the newer options is Harmony Vineyards in Head of the Harbor. Every Sunday at 11 a.m. and noon the winery, which is located on the water, hosts a highly rated brunch for $49.95 per person. Mystic Outdoor Arts Festival

A Ferry ride away from the North Fork, each year Mystic, Conn. hosts the northeast region’s oldest outdoor arts festival, attracting more than 100,000 visitors for the weekend-long event.

The festival, hosted by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, showcases more than 250 artists and stretches over two miles downtown. There are activities for kids and food and drink sales go to charity. Learn more

Author’s Night at East Hampton Library

Dubbed “one of the nation’s premiere literary nights,” Author’s Night returns to East Hampton Library Saturday. The event features dinner, an auction and more than 100 authors available for book signings. Drawing more than 2,500 people annually, Author’s Night, which was founded and is chaired by actor Alec Baldwin, benefits East Hampton Library.
