Alive After Five in Patchogue

Had a great time at Alive on 25 in Riverhead last week? Check out the event that started it all: Alive on 25 in Patchogue.

Main Street will close to traffic from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 3 for four hours of food, drinks and fun. The popular street fair, which rotates with the Riverhead event, returns for a final night on August 17.

The HooDoo Loungers at the Bellport Bandshell

The nine-piece New Orleans style jazz band will add a little cajun spice to this popular South Shore summer music series on Friday, August 4. If you’ve never been to a bandshell show, the best way to describe it would be Greenport’s Dances in the Park but on a different bay.

The free shows continue through Labor Day with a different musical style represented each week.

Donavon Frankenreiter at the Montauk Surf Lodge

The popular summer music series continues this weekend with two acts, including singer songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter promoting his new album “The Heart.”

The free concerts are first come first serve and start at 6 p.m. Spend the day on one of Montauk’s beautiful ocean beachers and get to the venue, now in its 50th year, early to reserve your spot.

Can’t make it? He’s playing Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett the following night.
