The North Fork TV Festival kicks off for its second year with a bigger and better lineup incorporating businesses across the North Fork. The local focus on opening night includes the world premiere of the film “Greenport,” screening at 7 p.m. at the Village Cinemas on Front Street. An after party will follow at Noah’s. The festival continues with screenings and panels through Saturday.

The Great Peconic Race is an adventure paddle race circumnavigating Shelter Island. It starts and finishes at Wades Beach and is designed as an elite race for seasoned recreational, advanced, elite and experienced paddlers. The event includes demos, clinics, children’s activities and races, short races, live music and a party on the beach. Open to the public. It’s a fundraiser for the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program.

Chart your own course for a day filled with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the North Fork food industry with the North Fork Foodie Tour. Learn about artisanal foods, wines and sustainable agriculture. Tickets are $25 for adults and free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the event at the headquarters located at Peconic Land Trust’s Agricultural Learning Center at Charnews Farm in Southold. The Greenport Maritime Festival is happening in Greenport Village this weekend. This event highlights and showcase Greenport’s maritime culture and history. Saturday morning starts off with a parade through the village’s downtown. The unique park offers the best of two spectacular worlds — lovely vistas of Long Island Sound as well as peeks of interdunal swales, which are freshwater wetlands located between dunes.
