ANNUAL BARN DANCE AT HALLOCKVILLE

Enjoy live traditional music and learn the dance steps from caller Chart Guthrie in the historic Naugles Barn. A summer tradition that’s fun for all ages and an annual summer fundraiser for the not-for-profit Hallockville Museum Farm. Food truck, beverages will be available for cash purchase. POLISH TOWN STREET FAIR AND POLKA FESTIVAL

SOUND TO BAY 5K and 10K

10K runners will be bused to the starting line at Iron Pier Beach. The 5K begins and ends at South Jamesport Beach. The event is sponsored by the Jamesport Fire Department.

4TH ANNUAL GREAT PECONIC RACE
Saturday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.
An adventure paddle race circumventing Shelter Island. Starts and finishes at Wades Beach. Designed as an elite race for seasoned recreational, advanced, elite and experienced paddlers. A fundraiser for the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program. Event includes demos, clinics, children’s activities and races, short races, live music and a party on the beach. NORTH FORK FOODIE TOUR

Peconic Land Trust’s Agricultural Learning Center at Charnews Farm, 3005 Youngs Ave., Southold. Chart your own course for a day filled with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the North Fork’s food industry. Learn about artisanal foods, wines and sustainable agriculture. EAST END MARITIME FESTIVAL
Friday, Sept. 22, Saturday, Sept. 23, and Sunday, Sept. 24
The Maritime Festival serves to highlight and showcase Greenport’s maritime culture and history. Friday night begins the festival with the Land and Sea Gala cocktail party. Saturday morning’s parade will kick off the day’s events followed by a display of classic wooden boats, nautical arts and crafts, music, activities for children and families, pirate shows, local produce and seafood, wines and craft beer. Saturday evening will be filled with music and dancing in Mitchell Park, screenings of movies and fireworks. Sunday starts off with a children’s breakfast with mermaids and pirates followed by more family-friendly activities, games and a snapper contest and ends with a sunset sail to Bug Light.
