Located atop a bluff overlooking Long Island Sound, Kontokosta Winery in Greenport offers some of Long Island Wine Country’s best views.

The architecture, which incorporates siding made from reclaimed barn wood and recycled steel, makes a visit here a Long Island standout.

But it’s the views, helped in part by that perfect sightline and a wall of windows, that elevate it to the spectacular.

“We wanted it to feel open so you can feel part of the vineyard and part of the water,” co-owner Michael Kontokosta told us in an interview earlier this year.

It’s also a perfect spot to watch a sunset and the winery will remain open until the sun goes down on Saturdays this summer.
