Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away, which means it’s time to start planning something special for mom.

Whether you’re celebrating grandma, your own mum or your children’s mother, the North Fork offers several options to make it a good one.

The day is set for Sunday, May 14.

Mother’s Day fest at Harbes

Celebrate the start of the season at Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck. Enjoy live music, wine tastings, pig races, hayrides, and more. All moms receive free admission to the Barnyard Adventure.

Pop-up flower shop at Macari

Macari Rosé

Enjoy an afternoon of rosé tasting and flower making.

Floral designer Kim Jackson Reeves will host a pop-up flower market with custom-designed bouquets on Saturday, May 13 at Macari Vineyards. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Mattituck tasting room.
The winery will also offer complimentary tastes of their newly released 2016 rosé.

Mother’s Day soiree and shopping for breast cancer

The Times Vintage in Greenport is hosting an event to raise breast cancer awareness on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7.

Detection In Time, a fashion brand that raises money and awareness for early detection of breast cancer, will be available for purchase. The brand was founded by Long Islander and breast cancer survivor Shawn Widmyer-Natale.

Proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.

There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Enjoy sidewalk shopping with Mom in Greenport Village. Spending $10 or more at participating shops entitles customers to a raffle ticket. Gift baskets will be raffled off at 5 p.m. on both Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14. The event, which is sponsored by the Greenport Village Business Improvement District, is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

aMano in Mattituck is offering a Mother’s Day prix fixe menu. The three-course menu costs $44.95 and includes entrées like spring pea risotto with asparagus, lemon, mint and Pecorino as well as Atlantic salmon with ratatouille, olive tapenade and lemon oil.
