Love the unique farm-grown foraged offerings from The Farm Beyond?

The Southold farm now offers its certified organic produce and foraged specialties, like stinging nettles and miner’s lettuce, at Lombardi’s Love Lane Market in Mattituck.

“Lauren Lombardi has been one of my biggest supporters since The Farm Beyond opened last spring,” said The Farm Beyond co-owner Melissa Henrey. “I’m always telling her I want to eat everything she cooks, and she’s always telling me she wants to eat (or decorate with) everything I grow. I guess you could say we’re a good match.”

The organic Southold farm, which officially launched last year, does not have a permanent retail outlet. Instead, their goods are offered through a CSA program, on restaurant menus and at a weekly pop-up market on Youngs Avenue in Southold (check their website for details.)

“This partnership is a great opportunity for us to reach a much larger audience that we might not otherwise have an opportunity to connect with,” Henrey said.

“I’ve been a big fan of her and her husband’s farm since it opened and their commitment to offer such diverse and interesting local produce,” said Lombardi’s co-owner Lauren Lombardi. “Being able to collaborate with talent such as The Farm Beyond is the reason I wanted to open a business on the North Fork and the reason I love what I do.”

Expect a few foraged goods, as well as fresh baby greens and root veggies, among the first offerings. In a few weeks the farm will add seasonal flowers like sweat peas.

“Once summer really begins we’ll have the whole spread set up with our favorite varieties of heirloom tomatoes, French fingerling potatoes, etc.,” Henrey said. “We’ll have a lot of diversity.”

Lombardi’s Love Lane Market is located at 170 Love Lane, Mattituck. To sign up for The Farm Beyond’s CSA visit farmbeyond.com.
