30th Annual Orient Holiday Tree Lighting
See the annual Christmas tree lightingat Orient Beach State Park on Friday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and a visit from Santa. Visitors are encouraged to bring winter coats and non-perishable food items for donation.

Mattituck Christmas Tree Lighting
Come see Santa turn on a solar-powered Christmas tree in Mattituck on Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m.
Santa will be joined by Mrs. Claus to flip the switch. Enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes, donkeys and caroling.
This event is free. The lighting will take place at 7 p.m. in front of the CVS on Main Road.
Southold Historical Society Holiday Fair
Shop and enjoy holiday festivities on Saturday, December 3 in Southold from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be vendors, local artisans, baked goods, a toy train display, a raffle, a kid’s craft room, plus get your picture taken with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

6th Annual Wooden Wonderland: Carvers’ Holiday Show & Sale
Shop local artisan crafted and carved items at the Suffolk County Historical Society on Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This event features handmade carvings, local artisan-crafted holiday gifts, and unique wooden items, all made by Long Island craftspeople. There will also be live woodcarving and woodworking demonstrations.

Shellabration
Enjoy local seafood served with North Fork wines all for a good cause in Greenport on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4 from noon to 4 p.m.
Sample tapas-sized portions of shellfish dishes for $5 at participating restaurants. Local wineries and breweries will offer $3 wine pairings. Profits from this event benefit the Southold Project in Aquaculture Training and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program.
Wristbands are $25 and can be purchased in advance or in person. All wristbands can be picked up at either Greenport Harbor Brewing Company ( 234 Carpenter Street, Greenport) or Little Creek Oysters (37 Front Street, Greenport). Greenport Christmas Tree Lighting
After Shellabration, stay in Greenport Saturday night for the annual Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Park.
Village shops will stay open extra late, until 8 p.m., for holiday shopping.

Sunday Supper & Christmas Gathering
Enjoy a holiday supper at Heron Suites in Southold on Sunday, December 4 from 1 to 3 p.m.
PBS chef George Hirsch and Alex Goetzfried will create a meal using seasonal vegetables, farm salads and fresh baked desserts. Herbal tea is included. Wine and craft beer are sold separately. A portion of the proceeds benefit the mission of Cormaria Retreat House in Sag Harbor.

Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory”
Hear a reading of Truman Capote’s classic holiday story in Greenport on Sunday, December 4 at 3 p.m.
This largely autobiographical story, which takes place in the 1930s, describes a period in the life of the seven-year-old narrator.
