If you’ve headed to breakfast or lunch in Greenport on any weekend in the past three months, you might have noticed lines forming at Crazy Beans.

Located at the corner of Front and Main streets, the site of the former Coronet, the popular eatery opened in late September to great acclaim and popularity.

It’s the third location for the business, which co-owner Callie Martino, 29, launched in Miller Place in 2012 and then in Stony Brook. The original locations are regarded among the top breakfast spots in Brookhaven Town and the magic has been duplicated on the North Fork.

“We want to be that hometown breakfast restaurant that locals and the people who come out for tourist season can all love and enjoy,” said co-owner Tim Martino, Callie’s husband. The Martinos moved to Greenport prior to opening the restaurant there.

The eatery is known for both its comfort food — like cheesy biscuits and gravy and the huevos locos burrito — and unique coffee specials, like its rainbow cookie latte. For lunch it serves up paninis, wraps and sandwiches, with local beer and wine offerings. (The coffee includes locally roasted selections, with beans from North Fork Roasting Co.)

“We’re so happy and excited to be a part of the community,” Ms. Martino told us the week of the opening. So, too, are her customers.
