The crowds have thinned, the summer heat is gone and the off-season is officially upon us.
Many hotels offer special deals to entice visitors to the North Fork during the fall. Here are three of them.
The Duncan Inn

Located just a half mile away from Jamesport’s foodie epicenter, which includes Grana and the new Main Road Biscuit Co., the Duncan Inn is attracting overnight visitors with discounted prices and a special holiday deal.
The inn is currently offering a book-direct offer of $15 off any room between Monday and Thursday through December. That means the average room rate of $109 is now $94.
Owner Duncan Kennedy also plans to unveil a Christmas holiday deal after Thanksgiving.
Guests who stay at the Duncan Inn will also receive a $25 gift certificate, which will go toward purchasing a Christmas tree at Verderber Landscape Nursery and Garden Center.

The Greenporter Hotel

Greenport is always a great destination for shopping and dining.
This fall, the Greenporter Hotel is offering a Shellabration package for two beginning at $318 for a queen room. The package includes a two-night stay with free continental breakfast, free parking and attendance wristbands to Shellabration.
The two-day seafood festival, set for Dec. 3 and 4, raises money for Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Back to Bays initiative and and the Southold Project in Aquaculture Training. The wristbands net participants deals on small plates and local wine at Greenport restaurants.
The hotel is also offering a Thanksgiving deal for 50 percent off Wednesday, Nov. 23.
“We want people to arrive early and unwind,” Pittorino said.

The Ram’s Head Inn

Hotel prices have also dropped on Shelter Island. The Ram’s Head Inn is offering a weekend special of $175 per night for a suite. In the summer season, the normal rate is $250 to $275. The deal also includes a continental breakfast of muffins, bagels and cereal.
“Its quiet now, and the weather’s still gorgeous, so you can still enjoy the beaches and beautiful scenery,” said Susie Halloran of Starlet P.R., the hotel’s press rep. “There are no crowds and traffic is much lighter, so it’s a lot easier to get to.”
