In December, nearly every other car you pass on Main Road will have a tree strapped to its roof.

That’s because the North Fork is a major destination for fresh cut trees, handmade wreaths and farm fresh goods. So, load up the car and plan on spending a day out east this season.

Here are six North Fork tree buying experiences.

Santa’s Christmas Tree Farm (30105 Main Road, Cutchogue), Dart’s Tree Farm (2355 Main Bayview Road, Southold), Lewin Farms (812 Sound Ave. Wading River), Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm (20685 Main Road, Mattituck),Verderber’s Landscape Nursery & Garden Center (459 Main Road, Aquebogue) and Zuhoski Farms (11825 Oregon Road, Cutchogue).
