Shop ’til you drop when the annual East End Arts Holiday Gift Boutique returns for its season opening at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead this weekend.
This holiday event features exclusive handmade items made by local artisans like ornaments, greeting cards, home goods, one-of-a-kind jewelry, books, toys and more.
This popular shopping event draws many visitors from all over Long Island who want to buy original gifts. Every year the number of participating artisans grows. Last year featured 35 crafters while 45 will participate in 2016.
“We’ve become established as a go-to place for ornaments,” said East End Arts gallery director Jane Kirkwood. “So we’ll have lots of handmade ornaments.”
She added that Steve Schreiber will curate the displays.
“He’s designed for Pier 1, so we’re lucky to have him here to make the show look beautiful,” she said.
Visitors will also have a chance to meet many of the artists during a grand opening Saturday, Nov. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The East End Arts Holiday Gift Boutique will open its doors this Saturday at noon. The boutique will then remain open every day except Monday through Saturday, December 24. The boutique will also be open on Black Friday, Nov. 25 and Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26.
Shopping hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
