Pickles pair with pumpkins (say that three times fast) at Windy Acres in Calverton this fall.

Artisanal pickle purveyor Backyard Brine has set up a pop-up shop at the Route 25 farm on Sundays during pumpkin-picking season this fall. Pickle lovers can sample Backyard Brine favorites like Dill Death Do Us Parts, Sweat Heats, Pumpernickel Ry-Rys, and northforker favorite Rowdy Pepper Bellies from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Oct. 30.

Jarred pickles will be available for purchase, as will pickles on a stick and brine boats (cardboard french fry containers filled with pickles.)

“The kids like it and a lot of adults, of course, like it too,” said Backyard Brine co-owner Randy Kopke.

The Cutchogue-based pickle company offers small-batch brined goods made with “no artificial preservatives, chemicals or any of that weird Yellow Number 5 stuff.”

Windy Acres, which offers pumpkin picking, hay rides, a corn maze and more, is a popular fall destination. The farm is located at 3810 Middle Country Road in Calverton.
