Support The Stirling Historical Society of Greenport at the organization’s annual gala on Stirling Creek this weekend.
The event will occur at Hanff’s Boatyard, located at the corner of Main Street and Sterling Street, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Now in its third year, the night will include live music, dancing, cocktails, a raw bar and hearty appetizers. There will be a silent auction of collectible wooden buoys decorated by area artists and a 50/50 raffle. The historical society is housed inside the historic Ireland House Museum at 319 Main Street, which was built in the early 1830s. Funds from the event support the historical society’s ongoing efforts to establish the Berger House Archive Center as a research resource for the public.
