Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market’s Garlic Festival

Celebrate garlic at this annual festival on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 in Riverhead.

Enjoy unusual foods like garlic jelly, garlic fudge, and garlic ice cream. There will also be cooking and gardening demonstrations, live music, farm animals, pony rides and much more.

Merlot World Classic

Take part in the annual Merlot Classic on Saturday, September 17 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Peconic.

The Lenz Winery has collected as many as 60 of the world’s finest merlots, including many from Long Island, and will present them all in one place. Participants can taste wines and enjoy a selection of artisanal cheeses. Participating wineries include Bedell Cellars, Gramercy Vineyards, The Grapes of Roth, Lieb Cellars, Martha Clara and many, many more.

Bird Walk Field Trip

Go on a late summer hike with the Audubon Society in Greenport on Sunday, September 18.

Join Rick Kedenburg to look for late migrants and other species in Arshamomack Preserve.

Meet at the Red House Nature Center, Inlet Pond County Park at 8 a.m.

Lobster Festival

Come to the Lobster Festival on Sunday, September 18 at Polish Hall in Riverhead from 1 to 5 p.m.

Food will be served from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy lobster, chicken, corn, potato, roll, watermelon, beer and soda. There will also be a D.J., door prizes, a 50-50 and free bowling for children with tickets. Admission is $29 for adults and $8 for children.

Sparkling Pointe hosts 5th Annual Local Oyster Showcase

Join Sparkling Pointe Winery for its 5th annual Local Oyster Showcase on Sunday, September 18. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m.

Enjoy oysters from Peconic Gold Oysters, Harvest Moon Shellfish, and Founders Oyster Farm, as well as dishes by local chefs from The Frisky Oyster, A Lure, First & South and Sand Bar.
