It looks like Riverhead will be featured on the small screen once again.

A Netflix series called “Friends from College” is seeking to film scenes in Jamesport and South Jamesport later this month.

The half-hour comedy series, which stars Cobie Smulders, best known for “How I Met Your Mother,” and comedian Keegan-Michael Key, revolves around a group of college friends from Harvard who are now in their 40s, according to Variety.

Other stars in the eight-episode series include Fred Savage of “Wonder Years” fame, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon and Jae Suh Park.

Nick Stoller, who directed “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Get Him to the Greek,” and his wife, Francesca Delbanco, are the show’s executive producers and co-writers, according to Netflix.

A pending contract with Riverhead Town will allow Netflix to film at the Iron Pier Beach Park parking lot, as well as North and South Railroad Avenue and South Jamesport Avenue from Sept. 20 through Sept. 23.

The Riverhead Town Board tabled a resolution Wednesday afternoon to allow the production to use town premises and police personnel and vehicles, as the resolution contained errors. However, the town is poised to approve the film shoot once the resolution is amended, according to Riverhead Town attorney Robert Kozakiewicz.

Other movies or television shows that have filmed in Riverhead Town in recent years include the Amazon series “Z: The Beginning of Everything,” the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire,” the movie “Inside Llewyn Davis” and the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black.”
