Say goodbye to summer by celebrating the coming of fall at the 36th annual Hallockville Fall Festival and Craft Show on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 in Riverhead.

A popular North Fork tradition, this event showcases the community’s rich folk arts and agricultural heritage in an old-fashioned country fair atmosphere.

The festival will include family-friendly activities with live demonstrations of crafts like basketweaving, decoy carving, rug hooking, and woodworking. There will also be over 50 artisans and craftspeople selling handmade items like jewelry, woodcrafts, art, hand knitted scarves, hats and shawls, as well as locally made jams, jellies, candles and body care products.

Hallockville is a not-for-profit organization and this is their biggest fundraiser of the year. It is made possible through the generous support of community partners, volunteers and demonstrators.

Working in partnership with Hallockville will be the Long Island Power Association, which will hold a genuine tractor pull and show. The Railroad Museum of Long Island will also be there with a complete model railroad exhibit.

Visitors will also be able to take guided museum tours through Hallockville’s 1765 homestead and 1931 farmhouse and barn. There will also be a livestock display of farm animals like horses, cows, donkeys and goats, as well as children’s activities and games.

Live music will be performed throughout the day by Eastbound Freight Bluegrass. Local food and beverages will be available for sale all day. Some of the food vendors participating will be Pizza Rita, Nice Buns, Eat Me Drink Me, and Greenport Harbor Brewing Company. There will also be baked goods like cakes and cookies available for sale.

Admission is $8 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 5 to 12, children 4 and under are free. Family admission tickets (2 adults, 2 children) are also available for $20.

Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead. For more information, visit hallockville.com.
