North Fork Roasting Co. had some extra special guests this past week, actors Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, who made the popular Southold coffee shop their go-to spot while on vacation here.
Bilson, known best for her role on The O.C., and her longtime boyfriend Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars series, spent nearly a week grabbing breakfast and coffee at the Main Road location.
“We jokingly asked if they were moving in,” co-owner Jennilee Morris said. “It was really cool … they were really nice people, so down to earth.”
Morris said the couple, joined by their nearly two-year old daughter Briar Rose, frequently enjoyed acai bowls and the café’s sweet potato hash while switching up their coffee orders throughout the week.
Bilson shared a pic of the coffee spot on her Instragram to her 572,000 followers, saying it was “seriously the best coffee I’ve ever had and best breakfast ever,” promising to return. Her Instagram also featured a photo of Little Creek Oysters in Greenport.
North Fork Roasting Co. also shared a snap on their page of Morris and fellow co-owner Jess Dunne laughing with the couple.
“Rachel was so sweet because when she was leaving, it was their last day, she was like ‘Did you guys wanna grab a picture because we’re heading out of town,’ ” Morris said. “That was so nice of Rachel to go out of her way to offer.”
This wasn’t the first time a major celebrity visited their business, Morris said, adding that Keira Knightley stopped by last month as well as numerous famous chefs.
“I think more and more celebs are finding the North Fork and enjoying the down to earth and quiet kinda peaceful aspect of it,” she said.
