Garden of Eve Tomato Festival

Enjoy everything tomato-related at Garden of Eve Organic Farm and Market on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Along with organic produce and foods, there will also be tomato tasting, a tomato canning class on Sunday, as well as live music, farm animals, hayrides and more.

Riverhead Railroad Festival

The Railroad Museum of Long Island celebrates its 26th anniversary on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Riverhead.

Come see historic locomotives, railcars, passenger cars and cabooses. Ride on a replica of the 1964-1965 LIRR Pavillion World’s Fair train. There will also be blacksmithing demos, toy train layouts, railroad related vendors and much more. Admission for adults is $8, $4 for children. Children under 5 are free.

Watermelon Festival

Harbes Family Farm celebrates this popular summer fruit on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28.

Activities will include watermelon eating contests, seed spitting contests and watermelon rolling. There will also be live music, wine tasting, local vendors, singing hayrides, pony rides and much more.

Sound to Bay 10K and 5K

Hit the pavement or cheer others on at the 18th annual Long Island Sound to Peconic Bay run, or the 5K from the Jamesport firehouse to the Bay on Sunday, August 28 beginning at 9 a.m.

All proceeds benefit the Jamesport Fire Department scholarship fund, plus other local charities. Participants can park at South Jamesport Beach and register between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is $25, while registration is $30 the day of the race.

Color Between the Wines

Join Martha Clara Vineyards for an adult coloring book event on Sunday, August 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

For $30 participants will receive an Usborne coloring book, colored pencils and a complimentary glass of wine.
