There was once a time when an evening at a drive-in movie was a regular night out. That could ring true again.
Riverhead Raceway is hosting its first drive-in movie night tonight, Friday, June 17, with a screening of “Big,” the ’80s family classic starring Tom Hanks.
The raceway is also planning a second drive-in night July 1 and, if all goes well, will seek approval from Riverhead Town to continue the events on most Friday nights through Sept. 2
Films will be shown on a portable screen and sound will come through the car radios.
Admission is $6 per person and free for children under 5. Moviegoers should arrive before 8:15 p.m., according to the raceway.
