Pop-Up Farm stand

Come to the first pop-up farm stand this Friday, June 10 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Agricultural Center at Charnew Farms in Southold.

Buy local, pasture-raised eggs from Lily’s Farm and certified organic produce from The Farm Beyond.

Charnew Farms is located at 3005 Youngs Avenue in Southold.

 

First Annual North Fork Rose’ Crawl

Sample the rose’s of four vineyards on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bridge Lane Wines, Castello de Borghese, the Lenz Winery and Roanoke on Love Lane are the participants. No RSVP is required, each tasting room has its own hours. For more information, call the Bridge Lane Tasting Room at 631-298-1942 or visit bridgelanewine.com.

The Bridge Lane Tasting Room is located at 35 Cox Neck Road in Mattituck.

North Fork Waiter Race

The North Fork Waiter Race kicks off on Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m. in Greenport.

Local waiters can compete for a good cause or just come and watch competitors walk as fast as possible while balancing a filled stemmed glass on a tray.

The entry fee is $50. The race will start at The Opportunity Shop and finish at The Market.

A portion of proceeds will benefit Eastern Long Island Hospital’s physical therapy and fitness program. Register by noon on Friday by calling 631-477-8803 or 631-477-5164.

There will also be limited registration Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at The Market at 44 Front Street in Greenport.

Herb Workshop

Learn about herbs and how to plant an herb garden on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at Sang Lee Farms.

Herbalist Heather Cusack will provide growing tips and companion planting suggestions, as well as culinary, medicinal and cosmetic uses of herbs.

Slow Food East End Potluck Picnic

Enjoy an afternoon picnic on Saturday, June 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Biophilia Organic Farm.

Admission is $20 and advance reservations are required. Children under 12 are free.

Go to slowfoodeastend.org to reserve a spot. Bring your favorite picnic fare to share with six to eight people, plus beverages for you and your party. A portion of funds will be donated to the Feisty Acres Bobwhite Quail Release Program.
