Think of it as a bucket list you have a month to complete. Only we promise, you’ll still be alive at the end of it.

Or maybe you’d prefer to view it as a 30-day scavenger hunt with no one keeping score.

However you want to approach it, we figured that as we enter our fourth year as a guide to the North Fork we’d try something new this month, recommending an activity for each day of June.  

Some of these suggestions are one-time events. Some repeat each week. Others can be done on any day or at any time. A few even require hopping on a ferry to Shelter Island.

Have a picnic at Indian Island County Park. You can bring your goodies ready-to-serve or use one of their charcoal grills for your meal. Take a hike through the wooded trails, stroll the beach, play volleyball, fly a kite or use the multiple playgrounds available for the kids. Oh yeah, there’s even a golf course.
