With June right around the corner, the North Fork and Shelter Island are continuing to come alive for the summer season. Here are two destinations reopening soon.
The Sunset Beach Hotel on Shelter Island will reopen Friday, May 20.
Located across from Crescent Beach, this 20-room boutique hotel, bar and restaurant is one of the island’s social epicenters for summer visitors. They are currently accepting hotel and restaurant reservations at 631-749-2001.
The Sunset Beach Hotel is located at 35 Shore Road on Shelter Island.

The Railroad Museum of Long Island will reopen their Greenport location Saturday, May 28.
If you love trains, this is the place to be. Historic trains, LIRR history and one of the island’s last remaining turntables are just some of the attractions. The Greenport museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
It is located at 440 Fourth Street at the LIRR tracks.
