20TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY MOSAIC STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL

Sunday, May 29, noon – 5 p.m.

Downtown Riverhead on East Main St. between Roanoke Ave. and East Ave. and on the grounds of East End Arts (133 E. Main St.)

The festival is a daylong event that offers fun for the entire family.  Arts and crafts fair, street painting, live music, food trucks, drumming, dancing, theatre, children ‘s activities and more.

Greenport

The 139-foot replica ship ‘America’ will be docked in Greenport for three days and will provide educational opportunities and tours of the boat for local children.

SOUND TO BAY 10K & 5K RACE

Sunday, August 28, 9 a.m.

18th annual run.  A 10K race from the LI Sound to the Peconic Bay, or the 5K from Main Road at the Firehouse to the bay. All proceeds benefit the Jamesport Fire Department Scholarship fund as well as other local charities.  The first 400 to signup will receive the new designed running shirts.

GREENPORT MARITIME FESTIVAL

Friday, September 23, Saturday, September 24 & Sunday, September 25

The Maritime Festival serves to highlight and showcase Greenport’s maritime culture and history.

Friday night begins the festival with the Land and Sea Gala cocktail party.

Saturday morning’s parade will kick off the day’s events followed by a display of classic wooden boats, nautical arts and crafts, music, activities for children and families, pirate shows, local produce and seafood, wines and craft beer.

Saturday evening will be filled with music and dancing in Mitchell Park, screenings of movies and fireworks.

Sunday morning starts off with a children’s breakfast with mermaids and pirates followed by more family-friendly activities, games, and snapper contest with ending the day on a sunset sail to Bug Light.
