Sample all the East End has to offer at the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center’s second annual Taste the East End event, scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 29.

It’s an evening that highlights the foods, craft beverages and wines that are locally sourced, cultivated and brewed on both of Long Island’s forks.

“We wanted an event that showcases everything that the East End has to offer all in one special night,” said Long Island Aquarium event coordinator Nicole Buckley.

Taste the East End will continue another tradition begun last year, pairing each food vendor or restaurant with a local craft beverage or wine vendor.

“We put the pairings next to each other and they serve something that either complements each other or sometimes they combine their ingredients,” Buckley said.

More than 40 food and beverage vendors are scheduled to participate in the event that takes over the entire aquarium for one night.

Some new food vendors expected to participate this year include Tend Coffee from Shirley and Wine at the Finish Line, which sells their baked goods line ‘End of the Line’ at the North Fork Chocolate Company in Aquebogue and at the Waters Crest Winery tasting room in Cutchogue.

Look for musicians like New Life Crisis to perform throughout the evening as well.

“Last year around 900 people attended and it was a great turnout,” said Buckley. “This year we’re hoping for the same amount.”

Tickets to Taste the East End are $64.95 per person (plus tax) and include unlimited food and craft beverage tastings.  Tickets can be purchased by calling (631) 208-9200 x426 or by visiting longislandaquarium.com/taste-the-east-end/. Reservations are required and guests attending this event must be 21 or older.
