The Long Island Antique Power Association held its annual tractor run to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County Sunday morning.

A convoy of tractors made its way along Sound Avenue east to Main Road and then headed back. Along the way they were greeted with waves and thumbs ups from folks walking or driving along the roadway.

Jude Petroski of Riverhead, one of the event’s organizers, chose Make-A-Wish because the organization sent him and his family on a trip to Walt Disney World about ten years ago. Petroski’s son Michael, 21, suffers from cerebral palsy.

“It’s a fundraiser to support them because they do such a great job,” Petroski said of Make-A-Wish.

The tractor ride had raised more than $4,000 (and counting) by Sunday afternoon, Petroski said.

There was a participatory donation of $20 and all proceeds benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County. Additional donations are appreciated and can be made by visiting the Long Island Power Association’s website and printing out the attached form.
