How does sipping a dry rosé while overlooking rolling vineyards and a field of pasture raised cattle sound this weekend?

If that appeals to you, you’re in luck.

McCall Wines’ Cutchogue tasting room will open for the 2016 season this Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m., the latest sign that North Fork spring is in full swing.

The winery’s estate grown “Marjorie’s Rosé,” which is made of 94 percent merlot and 6 percent sauvignon blanc, will be available as will its 2013 pinot noir and other selections.

“As usual it’s very crisp and fresh and dry,” co-owner Brewster McCall said of the rosé. “It has notes of raspberry and plumb with some beautiful floral aromatics and a hint of citrus.”

As for the pinot noir: “It is still quite youthful, but beautiful notes of strawberry, cherry and a nice earthiness,” McCall said.

The interior tasting barn will be open and a few outdoor tables will be available, too. While the North Fork weather has been pretty terrible this season, a high of 64 degrees is predicted for Sunday.

The vineyard — which was named ‘Winery of the Year” at the 2013 New York Wine and Food Classic — will once again host the North Fork Food Truck on Friday nights, which will serve up burgers made with McCall’s own Charolais beef. Food trucks Friday nights kick off Memorial Day weekend.

Expect the beef, sold as both ground beef and steaks, to be available for purchase in mid-June, McCall said.

The tasting room will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15; Saturday, April 16; and Sunday, April 17. It will likely be open only on weekends until May, but check their Facebook page or call (631) 764-5764 for hours.

“We’re excited for the new season,” McCall said.
