Blue Duck Bakery‘s Nancy and Keith Kouris are celebrating Pi(e) Day today, March 14, with a deal on their tasty confections.
The bakery, which has locations in Riverhead, Greenport, Southold and Southampton, is offering $3.14 off all eight-inch pies while supplies last.
“Cherry is my favorite because Keith uses both sweet and tart cherries. It is just yum,” Ms. Kouris told us Monday morning. “Blueberry and apple are tied for second and I just love apples. Somebody just called this morning asking for a pecan pie and I had to explain it is the wrong time of year; it is a seasonal pie which we have in the fall.”
Blue Duck serves nearly 20 varieties of pie, some of which are seasonal. All are subject to availability.
The Greek symbol for PI represents a mathematical constant rounded down to 3.14, which is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi Day is celebrated by math lovers annually on March 14.
