Join the Long Island Aquarium as it hosts not just one, but three separate events over the Halloween weekend.

On Friday, October 30, dress as your favorite ghoul for the Aquarium’s first ever Masquerade Ball. Come in costume and don’t forget your mask (they will be made available for last minute purchase).

“This is the first one that we’re hosting, but we hope to make it an annual event,” said Darlene Puntillo, the aquarium’s director of marketing and advertising . “The party will take place in the aquarium, so we think it will be a lot of fun.”

The event will include an open bar, a DJ, dancing, hors d’oeuvres as well as light buffet stations. The Masquerade Ball will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $49.95 per person (only ages 21 and over please). Call (631) 208-9200 ext. 426 to make a reservation or for more information.

On Sunday November 1, the aquarium will host two different events for families.

Beginning at 10 a.m. it’s “Bats, Barnacles and Broomsticks.” Kids will go trick-or-treating throughout the aquarium and the Atlantis exhibit will be turned into a haunted house. There will also be puppet shows, arts and crafts activities, hay rides, pumpkin painting, animals and more. Admission prices are $27.95 (Ages 13-61) and $21 (Ages 3-12 and 62+). Then at 11 a.m. celebrate Halloween at the aquarium’s annual family brunch in the Sea Star ballroom. Enjoy traditional food with a Halloween twist like the Dread and Bread Station, Macabre Macaroni and To Die for Desserts. Tickets for adults (13+) are $42.95 ($36.95 for members); kids (ages 3-12) $26.95 ($22.95 Members);  and children under 2 are free.  Admission to the aquarium (including “Bats Barnacles and Broomsticks”) is included with the brunch ticket price.
