Today, Tuesday Sept. 29, is National Coffee Day and that means a few deals and freebies across the North Fork.
Americans love their coffee and consume 400 million cups of it per day, according to the National Coffee Association and the Specialty Coffee Association of America. That makes us the leading consumer of coffee in the world.
On Tuesday, customers visiting participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants across the country will receive a free medium cup of Dunkin’ Donuts hot or iced Rainforest Alliance Certified Dark Roast Coffee, with a limit of one cup per person.
Participating North Fork locations include the Dunkin’ Donuts in Riverhead at 1051 Old Country Road, open 24 hours and the Dunkin’ Donuts in Southold at 53345 Route 25, which is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In Southold check out the North Fork Roasting Company at 55795 Main Road for a half-priced coffee with the purchase of a bag of beans. Or bring in a new friend and get your drink for free (be sure to bring your customer loyalty card.)
Artisan roasted coffee is their specialty. Try their newest coffee drink the“Dirty Pumpkin,” a latte made with pumpkin, chai tea, and espresso. They’re open every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

North Fork Roasting Co. coffee is also available to-go at Love Lane Kitchen and Good Food, both in Mattituck. You will have to visit the Southold roasters for the deal, however.
Here are a few of our other favorite North Fork spots for coffee.
In Greenport, Aldo Maiorana has been roasting his fresh coffee since 1987. Stop in at Aldo’s cafe at 103-105 Front Street for an amazing cup of java and biscotti.
Also in Southold, Erik’s fresh roasted coffee has a strong following. The breakfast and lunch eatery, located at 43715 County Road, is open every day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. And Fork and Anchor in East Marion serves up a mighty fine blend. They are located at 8955 Main Road and are open today from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
