Local farms and other artisanal food and drink purveyors will be the stops on North Fork Reform Synagogue’s ninth annual Foodie Tour, set for Sunday, Sept. 20. The self-guided event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with exclusive tours, demonstrations, talks and family activities.

The 20 venues include 8 Hands Farm, Browder’s Birds, Charnews Farm, Catapano Dairy Farm, East End Mushroom, Goodale Farms, Greenport Harbor Brewery, Koppert Kress, Krupski Farms, Lavender by the Bay, Macari Vineyards, Mar-Gene Farms, North Fork Roasting Co., Sang Lee Farms, Satur Farms, the Southold Elementary School garden, Shinn Estate Vineyards, Surrey Lane Vineyards, The Farm and Ty Llwyd Farm.

New this year: Peter Berley, chef and author of “The Secrets of Sourdough and Its Benefits for Taste and Health,” will give a demonstration and tasting of traditional French country bread and Dan Heston of Peconic Land Trust will talk about nurturing new farms.

Anyone wishing to make the tour on two wheels may rent a bicycle especially for the event from East End Bike Tours ( — use the promo code FOODIE) and pick it up at Peconic Land Trust’s Charnews Farm in Southold. The cost is $36.
