Heavy rain predicted for the next few days might spoil some of your North Fork weekend plans.

East End Mushroom Co.’s mushroom cook-off, originally scheduled for Oct. 3 at Macari Vineyards in Mattituck, has been postponed until Oct. 24 due to the weather.

“After discussing the safety concerns with the tent company and Macari Vineyards, it has been determined postponing the event would be the best and safest decision for our guests and participants,” East End Mushroom said in a statement.[blankslate_pages id=”d5579ecba09209″ type=”card” show_photo=”true” utm_content=””][/blankslate_pages]

The event will still be held at Macari and will feature up to 40 local and regional chefs and restaurants that will prepare tastings of their creative recipes using mushrooms grown by East End Mushroom Co. One hundred percent of proceeds will be donated to the local charities CAST and Maureen’s Haven.

Macari will provide wine while Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. will provide beer. The Earthtones will perform.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m.

The hard cider festival Pour the Core is currently on rain or shine, though we will update you if that changes.

If you know of any other event cancelations or postponements, please let us know in the comment section.
