Peconic Landing will host its fourth annual End of Summer Celebration and fireworks show this Sunday.

The event, which organizers said attracts 700 spectators a year, is free to attend.

The 40-member Atlantic Wind Symphony, which is includes musicians from across Long Island, will perform on the patio of Brecknock Hall at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30. The performance will feature popular songs by George Gershwin, John Philip Sousa and well-known Broadway hits. It will also include a salute to veteran and current members of the armed forces.

The performance is sponsored by the Brecknock Hall Foundation, whose mission revolves around the beautification and preservation of the historic mansion.

Fireworks will be launched over Peconic Landing’s community pond at about 8:15 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a blanket and chairs to make the most of the event. The 20-minute fireworks show is sponsored by Peconic Landing.

“What started out as a commemorative event has now turned in to an annual community celebration,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing. “We look forward to celebrating with the North Fork community.”

A rain date is set for September 6 at 7 p.m.
