Please pardon the cheesy pun in the headline, but we couldn’t resist using it after learning about Greenport chef/restaurateur Noah Schwartz’s latest venture.

Schwartz, who in addition to his eponymous Greenport restaurant owns a food truck, catering business and oversees the wood-fired pizza oven menu at Jamesport Vineyards, has taken over the small eatery next to the Greenport Theatre on Front Street.

The name? Noah’s on a Roll, a reference to the small sandwiches and hot dogs on the menu.

“It’s going to be some of the more fun, simpler stuff we do,” he said. “But served on a roll.”

And don’t expect oil-soaked popcorn and Sno-Caps at this theater café.

Menu items include a small lobster roll ($12), two barbecue pulled pork sliders ($10), a kobe beef hot dog ($6) and a veggie dog ($5.)

You can likely find Schwartz’s daughter Phurlamu, 17, behind the counter.

“Now that I have good help, it seemed like a good time to do it,” Schwartz said.

Noah’s on a Roll debuted Saturday during the Greenport Tall Ships festival. The eatery will be open during the day until the last theater showing of the night, Schwartz said.

The movie theater is located at 211 Front Street in Greenport.
