Here are five North Fork events we think are worth checking out this weekend:
5. Harbes Sweet Corn Festival
Corn lovers, we hope you’re all ears because the annual Sweet Corn Festival is returning to Harbes Family Farm. From corn-roasting demonstrations to potato sack races and cornhole competitions, the family-friendly event will spotlight one of the North Fork’s most popular crop. For those with a diverse palette, the farm will be serving its own homemade corn custard ice cream as well as its gourmet roasted corn. And for wine lovers, the Harbes Vineyard tasting room will be releasing its brand new Estate Merlot Reserve. In addition, Farmer Ed Harbes will be giving guided hayrides of the 100-acre farm. Tour tickets are included with the $12.95 Barnyard Admission or can be purchased separately for $6.95.
There is no fee to attend the festival.

4. Yoga on the farm at Sang Lee Farms
What could be more relaxing than practicing yoga in a picturesque landscape? Kripalu-trained instructor Carolyn Poncato will be teaching an hour-long relaxing and rejuvenating Saturday morning yoga flow at Sang Lee Farms in Peconic. Afterwards, yogis are welcome to walk through the herb garden and learn about ayurvedic uses of the plants. Back at the farmstand, participants are welcome to fresh juice made from Sang Lee Farms certified organic vegetables. The class is $25, and all are welcome.

3. Third Annual Paddle Battle LI
Cheer on paddlers from near and far who have decided to “stand up” to the challenge at the Peconic riverfront this Saturday, July 18 at 9:15 a.m. when the third annual Paddle Battle kicks off. The event raises money for three not-for-profit organizations: the United Way of Long Island’s VetsBuild Program supporting Veterans and Military Families, the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation and the East End Tourism Alliance. The day will include a 2.5-mile amateur race, a 5-mile competitive race and a 12-mile elite class race. There will also be a pair of two-person canoe and kayaks races. First place medals will be offered to winners in each category for each class and distance.

2. River Craft Beverage Festival
Debuting directly after the Paddle Battle, the first annual River Craft Beverage Festival will take place this Saturday, July 18th from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. along the Peconic Riverfront in Riverhead. The outdoor festival will showcase craft beer, wine, and hard cider from over 20 New York craft beverage makers. Attendees are welcome to sample beers along the Peconic River with live music, games, activities, food, and vendors. The rain or shine event includes over three hours of beer sampling and a souvenir glass. General admission is $45. Click here for tickets.

1. Hallockville’s 250th Anniversary Celebration and Open House
All are welcome to celebrate the historic Hallockville homestead’s 250th birthday. Guests are welcome to tour the landmark, partake in craft demonstrations, feed the livestock, and watch military re-enactors in Colonial-era attire. The museum will also be opening a new exhibit which chronicles 250 years of the homestead. The event, which will take place this Saturday, July 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. is free and open to all ages.
