You don’t have to travel to Maine to find a fresh, authentic lobster roll.

Plenty of Long Island eateries offer delicious variations of the classic sandwich. And four of the best ones are on the North Fork, according to Newsday.

The Crazy Fork in Mattituck made the list, compiled by Newsday food writers Joan Reminick and Peter M. Gianotti, of the island’s 18 must-eat lobster rolls.

“This spot offers a lobster roll light on the mayonnaise. The lobster salad is also made with celery, onions, parsley lemon juice and a pinch of salt,” Newsday said of the Main Road seafood spot.

Claudio’s in Greenport, The Lobster Roll Northside in Baiting Hollow and The North Fork Food Truck also made the cut.

Not surprisingly, several other selections include dining spots on the South Fork, like South Edison and Duryeas Lobster Deck, both in Montauk.
