Northforker’s annual 50+ magazine was delivered to a newsstand near you today, March 19.
Inserted in editions of The Suffolk Times, the Shelter Island Reporter and the Riverhead News-Review, the magazine focuses on life on the North Fork for those who have hit their fiftieth birthdays.
The cover features the lovely Susan McGraw Keber modeling duds from the new North Fork Apparel (founded by Keber’s friend Carol Cohen Hohl) taking in the sun on the beach in Southold.
Inside you will find four inspirational reinvention stories from our readers (including one woman who went from a single mom on welfare to a vice president at an insurance company), a feature on looking for friendship and maybe love at 50 plus and Q&As with two women who at 69 and 71 launched new businesses last year. You’ll also find a story on the Silver Sneakers program, a workout program available to some Medicare beneficiaries, and a guide to your diet after 50.
Also included in the issue is a roundup of North Fork services and helpful websites for seniors.
Follow northforker this week as we post many of these stories to our site.
