Inmates at the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside tried got a little help connecting with the other side when Long Island’s most famous psychic paid them a visit.

Theresa Caputo, a medium who claims to help people communicate with their dead loved ones, filmed a segment for an upcoming episode of TLC’s “Long Island Medium” on Feb. 11.

It was the second time the coiffured clairvoyant visited the facility for her show. She performed readings for female inmates around this time last year.

She helped male inmates talk to spirits this time around.

“They wanted to be able to help some of these people who are in our facility. Help them find meaning or closure to events that may have occurred in their life that led them on their path in the life and help them moving forward,” said Suffolk County Sheriff’s Chief Michael Sharkey. “She seemed really well received. The inmates were really respectful. They seemed to engage with her.”

Chief Sharkey said the inmates were screened prior to filming.

“I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It seemed as if during the beginning it might have been a little difficult. I would say maybe 20 minutes in they seemed to warm-up,” he said. “There were 10 guys in the group. Eight out of 10 participated significantly.

“I’m told the inmates were pretty emotional in the follow-up interview.”

The jail isn’t the only East End locale the show has featured. The show also filmed a segment at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard, where Caputo performed an impromptu reading for her limo driver.

It is not clear when the episode will air. Representatives from TLC could not immediately be reached for comment.
