Long Islanders sure do love their seafood, and Buoy One in Riverhead is one of the best lunch spots around to get your fill. This laidback restaurant offers a number of seafood specials, and has recently added some options for landlubbers too! Panini combos are available for $12.95, and include half a panini and a soup or salad. Try the grilled shrimp with bacon, Monterey and cheddar cheese, spinach or tomatoes, or the veggie with broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, onions, red peppers and goat cheese.

Erik’s Breakfast and Lunch – Southold

You can’t beat a homemade soup and chili in the winter on the North Fork. Erik’s has a great selection that changes daily and will surely keep you warm during lunch. They also have platters for lunch that come with French fries, sliced melon and pickle. These platters begin at $9.95, and options include burgers, fried fish sandwich, chicken salad, and hot pastrami. For simpler options, the kids’ menu includes classic grilled cheese and chicken fingers.

O’Malley’s – Southold

If you want a really good burger, you have to go to O’Malley’s on Sound Avenue in Southold. With more than 30 burgers to choose from, a meal here will surely fill you up. All burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, raw red onion, pickle and French fries. Any additional topping you may want to add is just $1. Burgers start at $10.95. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home whether you dine at the bar or in the main dining room. Not a meat eater? O’Mally’s has a number of vegetarian options to cater to your dietary needs.

Phil’s Restaurant & Sports Lounge – Wading River

This place boasts not only delicious food, but also a casual atmosphere. Phil’s is perfect day or night for sports fanatics and families alike. The already reasonably priced appetizers are half off from 4 to 7 p.m. and include chicken quesadillas, steamed clams, chicken fingers, and more. The yummy sandwiches and burgers range from $6.95 – 8.95.

Spicy’s BBQ – Riverhead

Another Riverhead favorite is Spicy’s BBQ on East Main Street. They have an assortment of barbecue favorites at a great price, including their famous chicken wings, corn bread, mac and cheese, and fried seafood. Platters are the best deal here. There’s an assortment of sides that come with the seafood or barbecue plates, and they average around $8 each.
