Lucharitos in Greenport and aMano in Mattituck are introducing something new to their menus this year — breakfast!

While both places are expanding their menus, they’re each doing it in their own way.

Starting this Saturday aMano’s will offer a prix-fixe brunch where customers can enjoy a brunch item and drink for $17.95. Co-owner Adam Lovett said brunch will be offered every Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon.

“We like to keep things fresh, it’s fun to see new items,” Lovett said of the decision to add an entirely new brunch menu to the restaurant’s rotation.

Food options consist of French toast, poached egg and English muffin, vegetable omelet, smoked duck, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, eggs your way and crab cakes.

Beverage options include bloody marys, bellinis, East End sangria, pinot grigio, cabernet, juice, coffee or tea.

“We’ve already seen a response from our customers,” Lovett said, noting that the menu is available online.

For Lucharitos the addition of breakfast is one of many changes the restaurant faces.

They are currently expanding to the dining room into the building next door which will add about 1,100 square feet to the restaurant, according to owner Marc LaMaina. Breakfast will be served after the expansion is complete.

“It’s going to be really simple, like a five item menu,” he said. “It’s going to have traditional Spanish and Mexican items and some chef specials.”

Customers can expect the restaurant to open around 7:30 or 8 a.m. once the expansion and breakfast menu are complete, LaMaina said.

LaMaina said his idea for adding breakfast to the menu came from a café in San Diego.

“I think we put out quality food, and I think people deserve a breakfast in a cool atmosphere, which we have,” he said. “I’m looking forward to giving customers more options.”

aMano is located at 13550 Main Road in Mattituck. Lucharitos is located at 119 Main Street in Greenport.
