Bust out your shamrock-adorned T-shirts and polyester red beards — a St. Patrick’s Day-themed pub crawl is coming to Riverhead.

Piggybacking on the success of the Santacon pub crawl in December, the event, dubbed “The March of the Leprechauns,” will raise money for the homeless outreach group Maureen’s Haven and the East End Emerald Society. The latter is raising funds to pay for pipe and drum bands in the Jamesport St. Patrick’s Day parade.

The pub crawl, which will feature deals and promotions at participating businesses, kicks off March 7 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at participating bars and restaurants or by calling The Suffolk Theater at (631) 727-4343.

Participants are expected dress up in “all things Irish,” according to release from The Suffolk Theater, which is sponsoring the event.

“People really went all out for SantaCon,” Nicole Evers, the theater’s event planner, said in a press release. “I can’t wait to see what people think of for The March.”

The December event raised about $8,500 for charity and brought hundreds to downtown bars and restaurants. Jeff McKay, owner of Vines and Hops on East Main Street told us last year that it was the bar’s busiest night ever.

“We finally saw local patrons coming downtown,” he said in December. “I would say less than 10 percent [of locals] make up our patrons. It was good to see the Riverhead community was active for this event.”

Participating vendors are as follows: The Suffolk Theater, Vines and Hops, Joe’s Garage and Grill, Tweed’s, Crooked Ladder Brewing Co., Digger’s Ales and Eats, Cliff’s Rendezvous, Riverhead Diner and Grill, Hotel Indigo East End, Hampton Trolley and Uncle Joe’s Pizza.
