Prepare your taste buds for a ‘taste of Europe’ when new niche eatery My Creperie comes to downtown Wading River early next spring.

Once My Creperie opens, you’ll be able to get your hands on a variety of savory and sweet crepes, along with other baked goods and libations.

Owners Robert and Yasemin Nasta of Rocky Point began leasing the space in June and have been hard at work rehabbing the former General Store, which closed three years ago after sustaining damaged during tropical storm Irene.

Ms. Nasta, who has been making crepes for as long as she can remember, said she wanted to open a shop that reminded her of the cafés in her native Germany before moving to her husband’s Long Island hometown seven years ago. Her husband welcomed the idea.

“Take a look around. It is tranquil and beautiful,” Mr. Nasta said. “It highlights what we’re trying to bring to the area. We want people to take the time to slow down, get a glass of wine and a crepe and look out at the duck pond. It takes you to another place.”

The menu will feature traditional European-style crepes with homemade fillings, including strawberry preserves with cream cheese, ham and cheese, avocado with sliced pear and cheddar and smoked salmon with chopped onion and cream cheese. There will also be a build-your-own crepe option.

In addition to crepes, it will offer a variety of baked goods, wine, beer, specialty teas and coffee.

My Creperie is the third new business to come to the area by the Duck Ponds in less than year joining meat-lovers’ paradise North Fork Bacon & Smokehouse and the popular Tex-Mex restaurant Mesquite in offering specialty eats.

“Both Mesquite and North Fork Bacon have a lot of different things to offer,” Mr. Nasta said. “With us coming in there is going to be a full menu of choices in this small area. It gives people a reason to come.”

When My Creperie opens in the spring it will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week throughout the year.
