Well, that’s one way to sleep with the fishes.

Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center is hosting a sleepover celebration of penguins on Nov. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. (Editor’s note: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated the date as Nov. 23.)

During the night aquarium-goers will enjoy a presentation on the Arctic birds, a showing of the movie “Happy Feet” and a penguin-themed craft. Participants are invited to lay down their sleeping bags next to the aquarium’s shark tank, best buddies tank or near the giant Pacific octopus.

The fee is $64.95 per person (plus tax) or $49.95 (plus tax) for aquarium members. Children 2 and under are free.

That includes aquarium admission, dinner, continental breakfast, a movie showing, a craft, animal interaction, and waking up next to one of the exhibits.

Sleeping location is determined by a first-come, first-serve basis, so get there early.

Reservations for the sleepover are required and can be made by calling 631-208-9200 ex. 426.

Lovers of the winged-waddlers should know the aquarium is home to a year-round 800-square-foot outdoor penguin exhibit. Guest can view African penguins both above and below the water’s surface. Natives of South African, the flightless birds feel right at home in Long Island’s temperate climate.

Long Island Aquarium is located at 431 E. Main Street in Riverhead.
