Seven months after signing on as executive chef, Craig Attwood has left the Jedediah Hawkins Inn.

Sunday was Attwood’s last day at the South Jamesport inn and restaurant, general manager Colin Keillor confirmed Monday.

“He is moving on,” Keillor said. “We were very happy with his work. We wish him the best.”

In April, Attwood replaced Rich Kanowsky as the executive chef at Jedediah Hawkins. After he was hired, Attwood told northforker.com he hoped to bring a fresh and inviting atmosphere to the inn. During his time as executive chef, he overhauled both the menus for the inn’s upstairs dining room and basement speakeasy, offering fun and creative food choices like duck chilidogs with blue mustard.

Kyle Strong Romeo, who has served as sous chef  at the restaurant the past two years, will now oversee the kitchen until a replacement executive chef is found, Keillor said.
