All North Fork B&Bs are one-of-kind, each made unique with personal touches and charms.

But this one certainly has set itself apart from the rest.

Sannino Bella Vita Bed & Breakfast in Cutchogue will change the way you think of a B&B. With no indoor common areas, the inn’s two large suites have private entrances and dinning areas where breakfast is brought to you in the morning.

Innkeeper Lisa Sannino opened the bed and breakfast in 2005, but her dream of running an inn started nearly 22 years earlier, she said.

“A friend gave me a book on how to run a bed and breakfast and I always kept it,” she said. “I didn’t know when or where, but I knew it was in my future.”

Opportunity knocked when Sannino’s husband Anthony, an experienced winemaker, set his sights on opening a vineyard in Peconic. Prior to purchasing the Peconic vineyard and Cutchogue property, the couple resided in Manorville. Admittedly hesitant, Ms. Sannino said she made the move on one condition.

“I’d said I’ll go if I could get my B&B,” she laughed.

The rest is history, she said. In the past nine years both the vineyard and the bed and breakfast have gone on to receive numerous accolades and have been a temporary home to many happy customers, she said.

Unlike traditional B&Bs, visitors do not have to go through common quarters to get to their room. Each of the two large suites offers private entranceways, a small kitchen and living room area, bathrooms with heated tiles and a private outdoor space for unwinding.

All come with free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, coffee makers, mini fridge, dishware and utensils and a wine rack stocked with an assortment of Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard wine.

sannino dineBreakfast comes to you at Sannino Bella Vita B&B. Instead of eating in a common area when breakfast is called, Ms. Sannino will deliver food to the room in the morning where guests can dine at their private indoor table or on the patio.

Seasonal and fresh breakfasts are a staple of the inn. Ms. Sannino raises her own hens that produce the eggs for menu items such as omelets. She also frequents the areas farmstands for fresh produce and grows many of her own herbs and veggies in the garden.

Nestled in the vines, Bella Vita B&B offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

Of course there is plenty of fun and adventure to be had, too. A perk of owning both a winery and an inn is being able to offer guests a free wine tasting at the Peconic tasting room. While you’re there you can also check at Greenport Harbor Beer Company’s nearby tasting room and Anthony Nappa’s The Winemaker’s Studio, which are all located steps away from Sannio’s vineyard.
