Canna lily flowers in Calverton: North Fork Sunday Scene

This week’s Sunday Scene comes to you from the field outside a Calverton farmhouse.

Every year William Fedun Sr. plants hundreds of canna lilies next to his home at 317 Riley Ave.  providing several weeks of vibrant color. Even the recent downpour didn’t diminish their show power this year.

This tropical plant has been cultivated in temperate climates and blooms beautifully as long as it gets six to eight hours of sunlight per day.
